Amikacin
Amikacin as sulfate Injection 500 mg
For L.M or slow IV or I.V infusion
Compsition (2 md vial):
Each ml contains Amikacin as sulfate USP equivalent to Amikacin 250rmg.
INDICATIONS AND DOSE :
Serieus Gram-negative infections resistant to gestamicin (multiple daily dose regimens)
BY INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTION,OR BY SLOW INTRAVENOUSINJECTION,OR BY INTRAVENOUS INFUSION
Adult:15 mg /kg daily doses,increased to 22.5mg/kg daily in 3 divided doses for up to 10 days ,higher dose to be used in severe infections ;maximum15gper day ;maximum1.5g per course.

BY INTRAVENOUS INFUSION: Adult:Initially15mg/kg(max.per dose 1.5goncedaily),dose to be adjusted according to serum Amikacincincentration;maximum15g per course
DOSES AT EXTREMES OF BODY-WEIGHT:To avoidexcessive dosage in obese patients,use idealweight for height to calculate dose and monitor serum Amikacinconcentration closely.
Indication:
Used in the treatment of serious infections caused by bacteria sensitive to Amikacin sulfate.
Usage:
intramuscular(IM) ang intravenous(IV) route .Refer to package insert.
