Pharmacodynamics
Cimetidine is a reversible competitive antagonist of the actions of histamine that are excretedon H2-receplerg. Cimetidine markeredly reduces the volume and concentration of acid secretedboth in the resting slate and after stimulation by food, histamine, pentagastrin ** and so on.
Pharmacokinetics
About 60%~70% are absorbed rapidly by intestinal tract after administered by mouth, bloodconcentration reaching high peak are 45-90 minutes, The oral bioavailability is about 70%.Plasma protein binding rate is low, It is distributed widely in body tissues and metabolited by theliver and excreted by the kidney.
Indication
Cimetidinc is a histamine H2-receptor antagonist. Used in the treatment of duodenal ulcer,gastric ulcer, reflux esophagitis, stress ulcer and Zollinger-ellison syndrom.Administration and dosage
1. Treat for duodenal ulcer or pathological high-secretion state, 1 tablet once, 2 times dailyafter meal or by bedtime or l tablets once by bedtime: 2. for prevention ulcer recurrence, 1 tabletsonce by bedtime.
Adverse reactions of Cimetidine Tablet 400mg

Precaution
Before giving cimetidine to patients with gastric ulcers, the possibility of malignancy should be excluded since cimetidine may mask symptoms and delay diagnosis. Drug interaction
